Shooting reported in Yerevan neighborhood

Authorities in Armenia are investigating a brazen daylight shooting in Yerevan’s Kilikia neighborhood after multiple gunshots rang out on Saturday afternoon, leaving at least one person injured, Shamshyan.com reported.

Police said they received reports of gunfire on Sisvan Street at around 2:10 p.m. local time. Responding officers from the criminal and community divisions discovered spent cartridges from both a pistol and an automatic rifle, blood traces, and bullet impacts on a residential iron gate. A parked Honda vehicle nearby also bore evidence of gunfire.

The Malatia-Sebastia Investigative Division has opened a criminal case. Law enforcement agencies are conducting joint investigative and intelligence operations to identify those involved and recover the firearms used.

Officials are also working to determine whether any victims were transported to hospitals following the incident.
