Minibus crash leaves 1 dead, 11 injured in Armenia

One person was killed and 11 others were injured early on Monday after a passenger minibus collided with a truck and plunged into a ravine in Armenia's Aragatsotn Province.

The crash occurred at around 6 a.m. on the Gyumri-Karakert highway in the administrative area of Arteni village, Shamshyan.com reported.

A passenger GAZelle minibus and a ZIL cargo truck collided, causing the minibus to leave the roadway and overturn in a nearby ravine.

One person died at the scene, while 11 injured passengers were transported to Talin Medical Center. Emergency responders, including firefighters and rescue personnel from the Interior Ministry's Rescue Service, assisted in the operation alongside medical teams.

Several of the injured were later transferred by intensive-care ambulances to specialized hospitals in Yerevan after receiving initial treatment in Talin.

A criminal investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the incident.
