New cyclone to bring rain, storms across Armenia

A new cyclone from the Black Sea will make landfall in Armenia late on Friday, meteorologists said.

Gagik Surenyan, deputy director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center, reported that the storm front will circulate over the country throughout Saturday, unleashing widespread showers and thunderstorms.

He warned that rainfall could intensify into heavy downpours in some regions, with localized hailstorms also likely.
