Armenia’s Food Safety Inspectorate has destroyed 25 tonnes of expired meat products, including basturma, sausages and smoked meats.
In a statement released on Saturday, it said the food posed a risk to public health and was disposed of using heavy machinery to physically break down the products before they were buried at a landfill site in Sasunik, a village in Aragatsotn Province.
