European Commission chief arrives in Armenia

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Armenia on Thursday for talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, following a visit to Azerbaijan.

Von der Leyen was welcomed at Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, the Armenian government reported.

She is scheduled to meet with Pashinyan before the two leaders deliver press statements.

The visit comes a day after von der Leyen traveled to Baku, where she met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
