Pashinyan meets with Pezeshkian in Tehran

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Friday, reaffirming bilateral ties and discussing regional stability following the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

During the meeting, Pashinyan once again expressed his condolences over Khamenei's death, saying Armenia shares the grief of the Iranian people.

Pezeshkian thanked Pashinyan for traveling to Tehran to attend the official farewell ceremony for Khamenei. He said Iran highly values the Armenian government's position toward Iran during a difficult period, as well as the humanitarian assistance it has provided.

The Iranian president also congratulated Pashinyan on his victory in Armenia's parliamentary elections, expressing confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop and strengthen.

The two leaders also exchanged views on issues of regional importance, emphasizing the need for consistent efforts to promote peace, stability and regional cooperation.
