Real Sociedad denies Zakharyan transfer rumors

Real Sociedad have denied reports suggesting midfielder Arsen Zakharyan could be on his way to Russian club FC Krasnodar.

Speculation in Russian media had linked the 23‑year‑old with a move, claiming Krasnodar might pursue him if captain Eduard Spertsyan were to leave.

“We don’t know what news is being referred to, but at present we are not in talks over any player. Media outlets reporting Zakharyan’s departure have yet to publish anything accurate. As for negotiations with Krasnodar regarding Arsen, there are none,” Real Sociedad’s press officer Jon Ander Munduate told Sport24.

Zakharyan joined the Basque side in the summer of 2023 and has since made 65 appearances, scoring three goals and registering three assists. Transfermarkt currently values him at €9 million.
