Steven Cree urges Armenians to join Step Up For Bears campaign

Scottish actor Steven Cree, a dedicated patron of International Animal Rescue, is inviting you to Step Up For Bears this July.

"Steven recently visited Armenia and saw the project that we run alongside our partners, FPWC, for himself. He met some of the bears who have been rescued from heartbreaking conditions, and saw just how much care, patience and compassion goes into helping them recover," International Animal Rescue reported on Friday.

"So far, 56 bears have been rescued in Armenia. That’s why we’re asking you to walk 56 miles in July, one mile for every bear rescued."

Many of these bears were stolen from the wild as cubs, often after their mothers were killed. They ended up in tiny cages, kept as attractions, fed scraps and denied the life they should have had.

"By joining Step Up For Bears, you’ll be helping to fund the rescue, rehabilitation and lifelong care of bears who have already been through so much," the organization added.
