Sev Ohanian named honorary guest of Golden Apricot

Sev Ohanian, one of Hollywood's most promising young producers, who just this past March was nominated for an Academy Award for the film “Sinners”, will be an honorary guest of the 23rd Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival, organizers said.

Since 2010, Ohanian has produced or co-produced nearly 20 films, most of which have either achieved massive financial success or earned America's most prestigious awards. His projects include Aneesh Chaganty's “Searching” (2018), which is not only one of the finest examples of the "screenlife" film genre, but also grossed $75 million on a modest $880,000 budget; Shaka King's “Judas and the Black Messiah” (2021), which received 5 Oscar nominations; and of course “Sinners” (2025), directed by Ohanian's long-time collaborator Ryan Coogler, which became the most-nominated film in Oscar history.

The 23rd Golden Apricot film festival will also host the Yerevan Premiere of Sev Ohanian’s debut directorial effort - the 2008 independent comedy “My Big Fat Armenian Family”.
