Opposition MP says Armenia under foreign control

Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan claims Armenia is effectively being governed from abroad, arguing that the country's political developments are driven by external actors rather than domestic considerations.

Writing on social media on Wednesday, Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition Pativ Unem faction, which includes the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), stated "few people in Armenia believe the ruling regime's actions are shaped by internal realities or developments."

"Armenia is under foreign control and the political developments unfolding inside the country reflect that alignment,” he wrote.

Abrahamyan claimed that the authorities act in accordance with directives issued from abroad, adding that "whatever task is handed down from the outside is carried out domestically, including legislative changes and arrests."
