Minor earthquake strikes Armenia

A minor earthquake struck central Armenia on Thursday.

The tremor, with a magnitude of 2.1, was recorded at 11:42 a.m. local time (07:42 GMT) about 18 kilometers southwest of the town of Aparan and at a depth of 10 kilometers, the Interior Ministry said.

The epicentral zone experienced shaking of 2–3 on the MSK scale. The quake was felt in Ashtarak and nearby villages, including Agarak, Byurakan, Karbi, Apnagyugh and Aragats.
