Mkhitar Hayrapetyan to exit cabinet as Alen Simonyan's future remains intact

Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan will leave his post after deciding not to continue in the government, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Thursday.

“After discussions, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan decided not to continue in the cabinet,” Pashinyan told reporters following a government meeting.

The prime minister dismissed speculation surrounding outgoing National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan, stressing that his political career was not in question. “There can be no talk of Alen Simonyan’s political fate. The matter concerns the format of his future involvement. We are considering options, and once decisions are made, we will announce them,” Pashinyan said.
