Yerevan to close central streets for Vardavar

Authorities in Armenia’s capital will shut down parts of central Yerevan this weekend as the city hosts the annual Vardavar festival.

The Municipality said Republic Square and surrounding streets will be closed to traffic on July 12 from 07:00 to midnight. A one-way street near the Shahumyan statue and Shahumyan Square will also be closed from July 11 at 18:00 until July 12 at midnight to make way for a children’s zone.

Festivities at Republic Square are set to begin at 13:00 on July 12, featuring traditional music, dancing, and water-themed celebrations.
