Strong Armenia pledges to resist pressure in parliament

The Strong Armenia alliance vowed to stand firm against political pressure and fulfill its role as the country’s main opposition force after placing second in the June 7 parliamentary elections.

Narek Karapetyan, a senior party member and parliamentary candidate, called Armenia’s 1990 Declaration of Independence “the birth certificate of the Republic of Armenia,” warning that undermining it would erode the nation’s legitimacy.

"All of our deputies entering the National Assembly are fully aware of the importance of their mission,” Karapetyan said. “Every form of pressure will be used against us, but the essence of struggle is that if you are an opposition figure in Armenia in 2026, you must not yield under pressure.”
