Armenia's U16 basketball team wins European Division C gold in Yerevan

Armenia’s under-16 men’s basketball team captured the gold medal at the European Division C Championship, sweeping the tournament on home soil with six straight victories.

In Sunday’s final, Armenia defeated Malta 97-68 to secure the title. The team’s dominant run marked an undefeated campaign in front of home fans, the Armenia Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Anthony Sargsyan was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after averaging 21.0 points, 14.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a 36.0 efficiency rating. He was also selected to the All-Star Five.

Joining him in the symbolic lineup was teammate Ethan Kazanchyan, who averaged 21.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.6 assists and posted a 21.3 efficiency rating.
