Levon Aronian joins Biel Chess Festival 2026

From July 12 to 23, the Biel Chess Festival 2026 round-robin tournament is being held in Biel, Switzerland, the Armenian Chess Federation reports.

The Masters group features 6 grandmasters, including Armenian-American GM Levon Aronian.

The participants of the tournament are:

Matthias Bluebaum

Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus

Jose Eduardo Martinez Alcantara

The participants will compete in rapid, classical, and blitz chess formats, and the winner will be determined by the combined results of the three tournaments.

The rapid chess tournament was held on July 12, with Levon Aronian taking first place.
