Armenia launches printing of biometric passports, minister says

Armenia has launched the mass printing of new biometric passports and national ID cards, Interior Minister Arpine Sargsyan announced on Wednesday.

Presenting the first sample of the upgraded document, Sargsyan described it as “one of the safest in the world.”

“This autumn, citizens will be able to obtain the new generation biometric passport and identification cards,” she added.
