Roof collapses at hydropower plant in Armenia, workers rescued

A roof collapse at a hydropower plant in Armenia’s Kotayk Province trapped workers on Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The Interior Ministry reported that the incident occurred at around 1:27 p.m. during renovation work, when part of the building’s concrete covering gave way. Rescue crews, including firefighters and a specialized emergency team, were dispatched to the scene.

Two employees were pulled from the debris, according to the Rescue Service.

An investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway.
