Armenian prosecutors seek seizure of 75 properties, 105.8 billion drams from Tsarukyan

Armenian prosecutors have filed a civil asset forfeiture claim seeking to confiscate dozens of properties, vehicles, business interests and more than 105.8 billion drams (about $275 million) from detained businessman and opposition leader Gagik Tsarukyan.

The Prosecutor General's Office said on Thursday the claim was filed under Armenia's law on the seizure of property alleged to be of illicit origin.

According to prosecutors, the state is seeking the forfeiture of:

  • 75 real estate properties and the market value of 10 additional properties, including 57 located in the capital, Yerevan.
  • 42 vehicles.
  • Ownership stakes in 38 legal entities, including Multi Group Concern LLC, Multi Avtotrans LLC and Onira Club LLC, among other companies.
  • 105.8 billion drams representing the alleged proceeds of unlawful income, related expenditures, outstanding loans, assigned claims and the market value of five vehicles.
