Hailstorm in Stepanavan damages over 1,000 vehicles

A massive hailstorm that struck the northern Armenian town of Stepanavan on June 6 damaged 1,090 vehicles.

The Stepanavan municipality reported on Friday that inventory work has been completed and documentation has been submitted to competent authorities to organize further procedures. The assessment was carried out by the Armenian Interior Ministry's Rescue Service.

The storm, described as unprecedented, pelted the town with hailstones the size of eggs, smashing rooftops, windows, and cars, while also inflicting heavy losses on agriculture.

Earlier, the Rescue Service reported that six sheep and 60 lambs were killed, and four foals remain missing following the storm.
