Strong winds, hail expected in Armenia

Armenia’s weather service has warned of unsettled conditions in the coming days, with strong winds and the chance of hail across parts of the country.

In Yerevan, short showers and thunderstorms are possible on the evenings of 18 and 21–22 July, while 19–20 July should remain dry. Evening winds are expected to reach 13–16 m/s.

Across the regions, brief rain and thunderstorms are forecast for 18–19 July (night and afternoon) and 20–22 July (afternoons), with hail possible in some areas. Winds will generally blow from the northwest at 2–5 m/s, but may intensify to 16–20 m/s during storms.

In Armavir Province, as well as the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk Provinces, evening gusts of 15–18 m/s are expected between 18–22 July. Temperatures are unlikely to change significantly.
