Aronian tops Biel Chess Festival qualifiers, secures final spot

From July 12 to 19, the qualifying stage of the Biel Chess Festival 2026 was held in Biel, Switzerland.

Armenian-American GM Levon Aronian finished first in the qualifying stage, securing his place in the final, the Armenian Chess Federation reported.

GM Aydin Suleymanli, GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus, and GM Le Quang Liem have also qualified for the final.

The final will be held in a round-robin format from July 21 to 23.
