Gagik Tsarukyan returned to Investigative Committee in handcuffs

Businessman Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party, was brought back to the Investigative Committee's Main Department for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling in handcuffs on Wednesday, arriving in a police vehicle as supporters gathered outside the building.

Dozens of supporters greeted Tsarukyan with applause and chants as he was escorted into the investigative offices.

His previous round of questioning, along with a face-to-face confrontation with the alleged victim, lasted about 10 hours.

Tsarukyan has been charged with large-scale fraud and money laundering.
