WHAT WILL BE BUILT AT THE PLACE OF YOUTH PALACE?

Edik Avetisyan, director of Avangard Motors Co. submitted a proposal which he believe will be the 8th wonder of world to be built at the place of Youth (Yeritasardakan) Palace, which was recently destroyed in downtown Yerevan. “Our city” NGO and several other architects believe, however, we do not need to have the 8th wonder in our city. They have proposed an alternative program which suggests recovering the former building but with new facilities. “We keep to our cultural values and historical environment by restoring Yeritasardakan Palace,” Anahit Tarkhanyan, chairperson of Our City NGO, told a press conference today. Tarkhanyan is the daughter of co-authors of Yeritasardakan Palace, Andranik Tarkhanyan.
The mayor of Yerevan assured her that their proposal will be discussed at city building board.
