CHILDREN’S DOCTORS MUST TREAT CHILDREN, ROSHAL SAYS

Children mortality and disability are lower in those countries where medical aid to children is rendered specifically by children’s doctors, Leonid Roshal, chairman of Committee of Public Chamber of Russian Federation on health and a famous children’s doctor, told a discussion on handicapped children in Yerevan. He said it is a well-proven fact.

Roshal said cooperation between countries in children treatment started from 1988 after the devastating earthquake in Armenia. Many children suffered also during the Karabakh war. Roshal helped children of both countries, despite of their nationality. “Children are not responsible for madness of their parents, especially during war,” he said.

He said he stayed in Karabakh for some time and left for Azerbaijan through Georgia. After the visit, he shot a film “War in the eyes of children.”
