RESIDENTS OF YEREVAN TO CHOOSE DOCTORS ON THEIR OWN IN 2007

Residents of Yerevan will have the opportunity to choose their family doctors starting the year 2007. Armen Soghoyan, health administration department head of Yerevan municipality, told a briefing today that a respective order will become effective as of January 1, 2007.

In the words of Soghoyan, each doctor may serve up to 2300 citizens. Total number of general practitioners in Yerevan is 623. Some of them have passed trainings and others will do so until 2009.
