IDLENESS OF GOVERNANCE COUNCILS OF SCHOOLS CONCERNING FOR GOVERNMENT

The idleness of governance councils recently introduced in schools has concerned Kamo Areyan, deputy mayor of Yerevan. “The council does not meet its oversight function and does not engage in strategy of the school. In fact, this innovative mechanism, which was supposed to develop self-management of schools, does not promote its development,” he said. He also said some people in governance councils are only interested in the appointment of the principals of the schools. “We expected the council to fulfill an important function and step up the self-management and status of schools,” he said.

Therefore, the minister of education and science has instructed to review the orders relating to governance councils at schools and establish new orders so that the “institute will establish itself.”
