TOURISM TO DEVELOP IN ARMENIA ON STATE LEVEL

Armenia will try to develop tourism in a government project. The government approved state program on tourism development today. Ara Petrossyan, deputy minister of trade and economic development, told a briefing followed by the government session that the state will release 70 million Armenian drams for the events in the tourism program. He said last year the state released only 20-30 million drams.

The state budget also released 180 million Armenian drams to promote Armenia in international broadcast. Petrosyan said they do not have data on the contribution of private section in the sector but said it is 3 times more than the state’s.
