NATIONAL PRESS CLUB MAKES A STATEMENT ON ACT AGAINST MEDIA OWNER

National Press Club expresses its indignation against the terrorism act against Ara Saghatelyan, owner of My Right newspaper and Panorama.am web portal.

On February 8, at 20.00 unknown people threw bottles with petrol on his car and set it on fire.

These terrorism acts before the elections make the internal political situation in the country even tenser making it uncontrollable. As experience shows, they target reporters and the mass media in the first place.

The National Press Club expresses concern that as a rule such crimes remain undisclosed.

The National Press Club calls the law enforcement bodies to take up necessary measures to discover the transgressors and punish them in order to protect media representatives from such terrorist attacks.
