ARMENIAN DELEGATION ARRIVES IN VAN

The Armenian delegation, headed by Deputy Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Gagik Giurjyan, arrived in Van late yesterday to take part in the inauguration ceremony of St. Cross Church on Aghtamar Island.

Earlier reports say that Holy See St. Echmiadzin refused to take part in the ceremony. The press center of the religious center said that this decision was taken because St. Cross Church, which was restored on Turkish government funds, will be used as a museum and not serve as a church under religious patriarchy of Kostandnopolis. The inauguration will be held with secular and not canonic ceremony of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Holy See St. Echmiadzin press center says.
