MATENADARAN REFUSES TO HAVE A DEAL WITH U.S. HILL

“The management of Matenadaran expressed gratitude to Hill company for proposed cooperation. Concurrently, it cancels the agreement between Matenadaran and Hill,” Sen Arevshatyan, director of Matenadaran, museum of the old Armenia manuscripts, said in a statement today.

The memorandum of intention between U.S. Hill and Armenian Matenadaran supposed digitalization of manuscripts and envisaged three contracts to be signed at a later date. Arevshatyan said the deal rose active public discussions.

Matenadaran management strongly hopes that they can digitalize the old manuscripts on their own means with the support of “government, benefactors and public.”
