OSCE elections special coordinator, Deputy Chairman of OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA), Swede parliamentarian, Tony Tingsgard, has already arrived in Armenia. The aim of his visit is to prepare the observation mission for the coming elections on Saturday, May 12. Tingsgard, as an experienced observer, was appointed special coordinator. He will head the observation mission of OSCE short-term observers.
OSCE PA office informed Panorama.am that OSCE PA 50 members will work with larger observer groups of European Counsel Parliamentary Assembly, Euro-parliament, as well as OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Defender's Office. On the whole 100 parliamentarians and 300 short-term observers will work throughout Armenia's territory.
“The role of all international observers is very important, since the coming elections are of a great significance for Armenia and for continuation of the country’s democratic processes. I wish good luck to the country and its all citizens on Saturday”, Tingsgard said, adding that he was happy to be in Armenia.
