IMPORT OF MATERIALS DAMAGING OZONE LAYER TO BE BANED IN 2010

In the course of last year, 50 tones of materials defacing ozone zone, were imported into the republic. Until this date, no legislative act regulated the permissible amounts to be imported.

The government session issued a procedure today defining the list of materials defacing ozone layer and their permissible amounts to be imported. According to the rules, from 2007-2010 only 29.5 tones of such materials may be imported per annum.

First deputy of nature protection ministry, Simon Papyan, said Armenia has committed to several international treaties to ban import of materials defacing ozone layer as of 2010.
