ARMENIAN SCIENTISTS WIN AWARDS AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN MOSCOW

Two Armenian scientists, Haik Demoyan and Arsen Hakobyan, won 1st and 3rd awards at international scientific contest held in Moscow recently under the heading “End of 20th century, beginning of 21st century: general history.” Some 86 studies were submitted for the consideration throughout Newly Independent States (NIS) and only 8 were selected in the final phase.

Demoyan submitted a comparative history analyses on Turkey and Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Hakobyan submitted a paper on “South Caucasus: region, history and people.” Azerbaijanis claimed against the validity of bibliographic sources used by the author. “The reply was strong,” Hakobyan said.

Demoyan believed he used neutral sources giving credits to his thesis. “The aggressive politics of Azerbaijan is analyzed from the point of view of international law and is based on international documents,” Demoyan told a news conference.
