CE WILL MONITOR MEMORIALS IN ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN

The General Secretary of Council of Europe Terry Davis declared, that “Armenia and Azerbaijan haven’t yet given consent for the monitoring of historical and cultural memorials”, APA Agency informs. The source says, that Terry Davis stated the necessity to investigate the whole territories of both countries in order to carry out the memorials’ monitoring. “The consent of both countries is necessary because of that. We didn’t get that yet”, - Mr. Davis said at the press conference in Strasburg.
To be reminded, that Council of Europe intends to send a group of experts to the region for investigation of historical and cultural memorials’ current condition in both countries. It is expected that the experts will monitor the Nor Jugha Armenian cemetery, which has been already thoroughly destroyed. The Azerbaijan in his turn accuses Armenia of demolishing the Azeri historic monuments placed on the territories controlled by Karabakh army.
