FESTIVAL DIRECTOR SAYS ARMENIAN CINEMATOGRAPHY FLOURISHING

“The Armenian cinematography is flourishing. Interest to cinema has gone up,” Harutiun Khachatryan, founding director of Golden Apricot film festival, said. In the past no films were shot without state sponsorship whereas now there are foundations which fund films, he said.

Khachatryan said Berlin World Foundation has allocated good money for the Armenian cinematography. In his words, many producers are interested in Armenian films. “The Armenian cinematography is going to change. Many good films are produced in studios,” he said.
