GOVERNMENT DRAFTS 2008-20015 EDUCATION STRATEGY PAPER

Ministry of education and science has set on a strategy paper on Armenian education which will be the guiding document for 2008-2015 national education program. An education conference with 230 delegates kicked off today to discuss the concept paper. Education minister Levon Mkrtchyan praised the conference as a tool for drafting objectives and implementation mechanisms. He also said it will help to develop an Education Code.

“The government has identified the problems and seeks public support and investment. In this sense, this conference is important,” Steven Heinemann, professor of Vanderbilt University and international expert, said. Heinemann underscore elimination of corruption and change of soviet style education system.
