ATOM EGOYAN’S “ARARAT” IN TURKISH CAPITAL

“Ararat,” a film dedicated to the Armenian genocide and produced by renowned film producer Atom Egoyan, will be shown in the 10th international film festival in Istanbul in September. Some 150 artists from around thirty-five countries will showcase their works in the Turkish capital. According to Turkish sources, Istanbul Fund of Culture and Art has organized the event. Ankara News Agency reports say Egoyan will not personally go to the festival.

“Ararat” was broadcast by private Turkish TV channel, Kanal Turk, last year. In 2002, the film will be introduced at Kahn Festival for no competition. It will be also premiered at Moscow Festival.
