NO TIME FOR BRIBARY: MKRTCHYAN BELEIVES

“The chairmen of a number of committees have been changed. Major changes were made in the committees of mathematics, physics and chemistry since they are among those with a broader scope,” Minister of Education and Science (ES) Levon Mkrtchyan told a meeting with reporters today.

The minister assured that non-replacement of the chair persons is often conditioned with the absence of this or that specialist. “If any committee does not work well, we make changes by all means, however, there are cases when there are no specialists available and there is no need for a change at all since the acting committee works as normal” Mkrtchyan stated.

In the words of Mkrtchyan, this year the corruption risks have gone down which is due to common exam system. ''Of coarse, risks are high for some subjects but the applicants who took exams on the common system and the committee will not manage to do or change anything,'' Mkrtchyan said.
Speaking about Sargis Tkhruni Youth Student Union's statement made on breaches in exam procedures reported by them, Mkrtchyan mentioned that the Armenian Ministry of Education and Science has not got any ''package.''
''They may send but a criminal case will be instituted and they will have to give answers for every single case,'' the minister announced.
