“MOVEABLE” PART OF OLD YEREVAN BETWEEN BIUZAND AND ARAMI STREETS

“All those monuments that are included in the list of constructions not subject to “move,” as approved by the government, will stay in their places and find their places in the construction plan of that locality,” Yerevan Chief Architect Samuel Danielyan told reporters today also saying building 51 and 53 on Biuzand and Hanrapetutiun crossroads and 1/3 building on Abovyan streets are such.

The reporters were curious about the programs of gathering architectural monuments typical to Old Yerevan at the crossroads of Biuzand and Arami streets and creation of a historical architectural environment there. Danielyan answered that those historical monuments and construction that are possible to move, will be moved to the intersection of Arami, Biuzand, Abovyan and Yeznik Koghbatsi streets and “an area typical to early 20th century Yerevan” will be built. In his words, the program has been under way for two years with the designs completed and tenders held. He also said action plans have been developing for different sections of the construction.
