ARMEN SMBATYAN AMONG JURY OF CONTEST AFTER TARIVERDIEV

Fifth international contest of organists after Armenian national composer Michael Tariverdiev has opened at Russian town of Kaliningrad. Russian media reports say the contesters are of “high professionalism.”

The program includes pieces of music from Bach, Brahms and modern organists, which will “satisfy the taste of musical tourists.” The audience is composed of people who go from one festival to another in order to listen to high-taste music.

This year Armenian musician, professor Armen Smbatyan who is also the Armenian ambassador to Russia is among the jury.
