TOURS TO PREVENT SALE OF SPOILED FOOD

Municipal employees are making tours to prevent sale of “spoiled” food products. “Last week, tours were made in Kentron community. The situation was satisfactory,” Karen Gevorgyan, trade and service department head of Yerevan municipality, told a news conference today.
He said during July-August inspections, 22 cases of fill-in ice-cream have been detected. The equipment was confiscated and the sellers were fined in the amount of 30-40 thousand drams. In the words of Gevorgyan, his department must make tours together with community administration employees upon the assignment of the mayor once in a month in all shops in order to detect violations of sale norms. “Our checks will bring to a situation when community administration will be more attentive in preventing expired or spoiled food,” he said.
