''MHER MKRTCHYAN'' THEATER GROUP ARRIVES IN YEREVAN FROM NEW YORK FOR THE FIRST TIME

The followers of Tekeyan will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the union's establishment in the Chamber Music House today. Robert Amirkhanyan, Anna Malyan will perform during the event. The congratulation addresses of the president of the republic and the Catholicos of All Armenians will also be read.

''Many guests have come to Yerevan from the Diaspora connected with the 60th anniversary of Tekeyan Cultural Union. For the first time ever the theater group ''Mher Mkrtchyan'' of the Armenian community in New York is in Yerevan,'' Gayane Muradyan, Tekeyan Cultural Union central board member, told Panorama.am. In her words, the number of our co-nationals from France, Lebanon, Syria and other countries reaches 150.

In the words of G. Muradyan, ''Mher Mkrtchyan'' theater group will start staging performances starting tomorrow. It will stage performances at the Theater of Young Audience from October 9 to 11. The group has come not in full staff. Only 35 members have arrived in Yerevan.

Vardan Hovanisyan is the art head of the theater group. This year the group will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
