STARTING NOVEMBER 1 ARMENIAN OLD FILMS IN RESTORED FORMAT

“Out of 700 films created at the Yerevan studio, 44 have already been restored, and 7 – also digitalized. We will be able to watch these films in restored colors,” said Levon Galstyan, Head of the “Yerevan” TV films studio manager, in an interview with a correspondent of Panorama.am. According to him, the stufio has already started the restoration works. “We have conditionally named the film restoration and digitalization technologies “Toros Roslin”, hoping that we will succeed in achieving entirely clear color reproduction, not only improvement of the physical state of the films,” he said.

In L. Galstyan’s words, mainly the equipment under their current disposal is used for the restoration activities, whereas the technologies required for the digitalization will be updated over time. “We use the possibilities we have today, but there will be also upgrades,” said the head of the “Yerevan” studio. An electronic archive, he said, will also be created in the studio, equipped with the search system.

It should be noted that the restored versions of the films will be broadcast by the RA public TV starting from November 1. The “Bride from the North” will be the first to appear in the new format.
