An emergency call was made at the hot line of the nature protection ministry that allergic diseases have been observed among residents living in the vicinity of Sovetashen landfill. The prevention and supervision department of the ministry confirmed the information.
Panorama.am talked to state hygienic epidemiology center head Lena Aghababyan on the problem. ''We have made checks based on this emergency call and we found out that it does not meet the reality.'' In her words Sovetashen landfill is in an isolated area and, therefore, is not dangerous for health.
There are 3 medical clinics in the area and a group of 16 doctors worked after the emergency call. ''We have worked additionally and no case was reported,'' she said. In Aghababyan's words Sovetashen's landfill is really concerning but ''no cases of allergic diseases have been reported so far.''
