Community Health Committees (CHC) will be formed to tackle the health problems of rural community residents, Karine Gabrielyan, program officer of Primary Health Care program, told Panorama.am.
Until now, 21 CHCs have been established in Lory and Shirak regions and another 36 were formed in the regions of Kotaik, Tavush and Gegharkunik. CHC staff will pass skills development and health training. Karine Gabrielyan said educational modules are developed to help CHC members in individual and group works with the communities with the purpose to prevent most spread diseases and solve health care issues.
Trainings are also conducted on small grant programs with local NGOs. The program is funded by US Agency of International Development.
