YSU STUDENTS ORGANIZE STUDENT STRIKE

Today the philosophy and psychology, Armenian philology department students of Yerevan State University (YSU) organized a student strike in front of the newly built building of the university. They were complaining that the building is not heated and it is cold in the auditoriums.

Lida Avetisyan, a 3rd year student, said that the students of the department have collected signatures and applied to the deans. They mentioned in the letter that in case there is no heating on Monday, the students will not go to classes. The student also said that there is no heating in the economy department of the state university and it is 12 degrees as a result the theology students do not go to classes for the third day now.

Hrach Mirzoyan, dean of philosophy and psychology department, told Panorama.am that the building is not heating because the supply of gas in the neighboring area has stopped. The dean assured that heating will recover by Monday.
