CATHOLICOS ANOINTS NEWLY BUILT CHURCH IN JERMUK

Recently Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin B anointed newly built church of St. Gayane in the town of Jermuk. The architect of the construction is Samuel Aghajanyan. It is built in one year under the charity support of Ashot Arsenyan and brother Aresnyans.

After a welcome note, the benefactor handed the certificate of the church to the Catholicos. The head of the Armenian Church awarded Ashot Arsenyan with the high award of St. Grigor the Enlightener. St. Echmiadzin press services report that on November 17 another church ceremony was held on November 17 in Vayots zor with a new church being opened in Kechut.

“We know our history and that our stone temples have been destroyed many times but the enemy never managed to destroy the temple built in our hearts,” the catholicos said in his speech.

Members of the government, top officials, town authorities of Vayots Zor and Jermuk were present at the ceremony of anointment.
