MEDICAL POLYMERS PRODUCED IN ARMENIA

“The development of modern medical science is almost impossible to think without the use of polymer materials. They are widely used and are indispensable in surgery, orthopedy, dental service and other fields of medicine,” Nikolay Hovanisyan, deputy director of radiation medicine and burns, told Panorama.am.

In his words, operations using polymers have been widely spread in our country in the course of recent few years. In his words, our doctors get polymers mainly from Sweden and Italy but on very high prices. Now, the deputy director says they cooperate with Yerevan Plastpolymer and specialists of chemical department of architecture university. He said polymer of local production is not used during operation. ''We use the materials during different tests and one must say they justify themselves,'' he said.
