LAYOUT OF NEW BUILDING OF MATENADARAN READY: TO BE DISCUSSED IN 2008

There is a plan to build a new building in the back part of Matenadaran, the museum of ancient manuscripts. Matenadaran sources told Panorama.am that the management of the museum applied to architect Arthur Meschyan to design the building.

The management of the museum will submit the layout to the government this year. The museum assures the executive has rendered its initial approval. The governmnet will discuss the layout in 2008.

A small section was built in the back of Matenadaran in 1980. In case the new building is built, the main part will be used only as a museum and there will be reading halls, research rooms and archives in the new building.
